Where it All Started

Hey Everyone!

Lets start with my photography journey, and where it all started. Back in Sixth grade i got my very first camera. A little Nikon cool pix filled my life with happiness as i snapped pictures of the weirdest things and was so proud of the hideous pictures i took. It was about the time in which i was going on a trip to Washington DC. I was so excited to take my new pride and joy with me, and snap pictures of all the memories i was sure i would make. While on this trip i grew to love photography, and began taking pictures with crazy angles and messing with the edits. My friends and i would goof around and take pictures pretending we were holding different monuments. I loved how photography allowed me to get really creative.

That's when i got home and told my mom i wanted a new camera. She thought i was crazy and rolled her eyes at me. I explained how much fun i had taking pictures, but she just brushed it off. That night a started researching photography and all the different cameras out there. This search went on for years. Finally i think i annoyed my mom enough, that she compromised and took me to best buy. That's were i fell in love with the Nikon D3100. At the time this camera ran just under $1,000 dollars. With Christmas coming, my mom threw in 200 bucks. That meant i needed about 800 more dollars. My mom agreed to let me use what was suppose to be my college money, and i purchased my first DSLR. From there photography became my passion, and that's why i'm here today.

Thanks guys, see you back soon for my year in preview!

How to add or replace a sky in Photoshop

Hey guys! Today I'm going to show you how to add contrast or drama to a photo's existing sky. This technique is very helpful in photos with a bare or boring sky that just needs a bit of pick-me-up. So start off by thinking of a time that you have ever taken a picture of the sky and it just turned out flat and lifeless. Upload that picture to Photoshop, and we'll start to give it a major boost and bring the life back into it from there. This is the picture I'm going to use. I took this picture on a hot summer day in the middle of the blah of the day. At this point the sun was straight up above and didn't help the lights reflection from the lens what-so-ever. Knowing that I didn't take the picture during golden hour, which is the best time to achieve ideal lighting, I didn't worry. I knew that by using this simple trick, I could enhance the sky and add just the right touch that was missing from the sky. 1. The first step is to open a picture in Photo
